Lot 1447

1806. NGC graded MS-64. Nicely toned on both sides with classic antique silver hues. The strike is sharp, with all of Liberty's curls present and boldly defined, the reverse to shows strong shield lines and feather details on the eagle. A rare type issue this well preserved, as most known examples fall well short of the nearly pristine quality and regal appeal of the present coin. The reverse sports interesting die cracks, one splits the O in OF, another from the rim up through the left claw (facing) of the eagle into the arrows, another meanders through the peripheral legends. A desirable coin in every way. Pop 24; 4 in 65; 2 in 66;. Estimate Value $18,000 - 20,000
