Lot 1309

1827. PCGS graded MS-65. JR-12. Pop 15; 4 finer, 2 in 65+, 2 in 66. Lovely golden toning on both sides and boldly struck. Where this coin really stands out is the quality of the surfaces. First off, its a gem, a condition rarity for any large sized Capped Bust dime. There are only a modest number of these early silver in gem or finer grades, for the 1827 dimes the numbers are noted. Liberty's curls are well struck, along with the surrounding stars. The eagle too is sharp and well defined on the tiny feathers of his outstretched wings. Luster is visable peering out from the antique layer of gold toning. A stunning example of this tough date in phenomenal condition (PCGS # 4504) Estimate Value $9,000 - 10,000
