1810 C-1 R1 Repunched 0 VF25. Attractive glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. Looks choice to the unaided eye but a glass reveals three light hairline scratches on the obverse, the strongest one from the top of star 4 to the T in LIBERTY. Otherwise there are only trivial ticks of no consequence and the sharpness would suggest a slightly higher grade. M-LDS. The repunching at the lower left of the 0 in the date is faint but still visible and the reverse is rotated 45 degrees CCW. Removed from an NCS slab graded XF details, improperly cleaned (they must have meant scratched, there was no cleaning; NCS label #5043158-009 included). Estimate Value $200 - UP
