Lot 244

1851 N-22 R4 PCGS graded MS65 Red & Brown, CAC Approved. Gorgeous lustrous mint red mellowing to light steel brown and olive on the highpoints with 50% of the obverse and 75% of the reverse showing mint color. A superior cent in every respect. The only marks, and they are barely visible with a glass, are some tiny specks of darker toning near the dentil tips at star 13. Scarce EDS, die state a. All the die lines mentioned by Grellman are clear. Our grade is MS64+, very close to MS65, and finest known in the Grellman census. And it comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; the only MSRB example graded for the variety. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
