Lot 223

1855 C-1 R1 PCGS graded MS66 Brown. Highly lustrous bluish steel and light olive brown with generous traces of mellowed mint color showing on both sides. No spots or stains, and this piece offers outstanding eye appeal. Satiny mint frost covers both sides, even the highest points of the devices. The only mark is a faint disjointed scratch along the dentil tips from star 2 to star 7, but this defect is very easy to miss. MDS with about half the obverse dentils softly impressed, as usual. Our grade is MS63. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; none finer for the variety. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
Ex Pinnacle Rarities 9/19/2005-The Green Tree Collection.
