Lot 219

1854 C-1 R1+ PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty mint red fading to light steel brown with about a third of the original mint color remaining. Looks choice to the unaided eye, but a glass reveals a few tiny spots of darker toning under the 185 and some microscopic ticks scattered over both sides, particularly on the obverse. M-LDS, Manley state 2.0. The dash left of the base of the 1 is weak and a small lump has formed on the upper part of the upright of the I in UNITED. Our grade is MS62. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 1 finer in 66 for the variety. Estimate Value $400 - UP
Ex Teletrade 3/18/2001:1003-The Green Tree Collection.

Realized $558
