Lot 216

1854 C-1 R1+ PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty mint red fading to medium steel brown on the devices. A third of the mint color remains visible on the obverse; more than half remains on the reverse. A very nice half cent that offers outstanding eye appeal. A glass reveals a contact marks that skips from the E in LIBERTY down through the ear to the neck; otherwise this piece is nearly gem. Sharply struck E-MDS, Manley state 1.0. The dash left of the base of the 1 is clear and there is no trace of a lump on the upright of the I in UNITED. Our grade is MS62+. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 1 finer in 66 for the variety. Estimate Value $400 - UP
Ex Teletrade 9/23/2003:1001-The Green Tree Collection.
