1853 C-1 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty medium olive brown and steel with subtle overtones of bluish steel. Peeps of reddish tan faded down from mint color can be found on the obverse. No spots or stains. The only notable mark is a tiny tick on the middle of the nose even with the bottom of the eye. MDS, Manley state 1.0 late. The die line through the first T in STATES is dull but visible and it extends halfway to the berry below before it fades away. An attractive, problem-free half cent. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 4 finer, 1 in 64+, 2 in 65, 1 in 66 for the variety. Estimate Value $400 - UP
