Lot 202

1849 C-1 R2- PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty medium brown and light olive with traces of faded mint color showing on the obverse and 5% of the original mint red remaining visible on the reverse. The surfaces are lustrous and this piece has great eye appeal. No spots or stains, only a few microscopic marks. The notable marks are a very light nick on the jawline and a thin diagonal nick near the front edge of the neck. Sharply struck EDS, Manley state 1.0. The fine die lines over NI in UNITED are clear but the fields are no longer reflective. Our grade is MS62+, very close to MS63. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; none finer for the variety. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
