Museum Quality Lady's 19th Century Mourning Brooch with 5cts. Rose and Mine Cut Diamonds. One of the most remarkable pieces of jewelry we have handled is this 19th century lady's mourning brooch in excellent condition. Black enamel is intact on 18K gold with clusters of rose cut, old european cut and mine cut diamonds that total just at 5 carats but SI1- SI2 and color H on the center 5 diamonds the others are dark. For contemporary devotees of antique jewelry black cloth ribbons (these are new) are easily removed from prongs on verso leaving one of the most unusual and lovely brooches possible. Brooch measures 1½ in diameter, weighs a total of 21 grams and is in outstanding condition for its age. Estimate $1,500 - UP
