Payne, Ken "Surprise Meeting" (1938-2012) Very accomplished Western sculptor whose bronzes can best be described as "action packed". Instead of stately, his bronzes burst with power and movement. Offered here is one of his best, "Surprise Meeting" a 1983 edition of 750 this being #232. A cowboy and horse are startled by a small covey of quail while riding along the Texas landscape. 21 x 13 x 9" A really great piece of Western sculpture. As with all the bronzes in our auction most will be shipped ground due to their weight. Estimate $1,500 - 2,500
