Rodriguez, Alfredo, "Turquoise Blue" (1954 -) Rodriguez was born in the Mexican town of Tepic, Nayarit, close to the Huichole Indian reservation. He began drawing as a child and developed his talent at such a young age it assisted in supporting his immediate family of nine. In 1973 he moved to the United States and in very short order became a celebrated and award winning artist with clients worldwide responding to his traditional themes. A member of the American Indian and Cowboy Artists Association, Alfredo Rodriguez established a studio in Corona, California. His rich and vivid colors depict scenes of the inhabitants of the American West: Indians, Mountain Men, Cowboys, nestled in the mountains, deserts, and Indian villages. Offered is a lovely oil on canvas that captures his command of vivid colors and detail regularly found in his work. A beautiful Indian child in colorful traditional clothing and blanket. The textures of the fabric so real one can almost feel their softness, the landscape beautiful. Painting measures 28 x 22 in a handsome gilt wood frame to 38 x 32". Estimate $2,000 - 3,000
