Sale 100

Lot 758

1893-CC. PCGS graded MS-62. CAC. Lovely golden toning around the edges on both sides. Well struck for this highly desirable date and mint. This is the final year of production for the Carson City Mint, and apparently most of this issue was eventually melted. This appears to be the fact based on how few have been certified relative to the mintage of 677,000 pieces. Fewer than ten percent of these are known today. However, unlike the other key Carson City issues of 1879-CC and 1889-CC, the majority of the 1893-CC coins are at least Mint State. Most of course fall into the lower grades from MS-63 and down. This particular coin is solid for the grade and should please any astute numismatist who is seeking a handsome example (PCGS # 7222) Estimate Value $5,000 - 5,200

Realized $5,288
