1849 Moffat & Co. (San Francisco) $5 Gold. PCGS graded AU-53. Mostly untoned with a handsome orange gold color throughout. A nice example that exhibits a good strike and clean surfaces. This is a popular and relatively affordable territorial gold coin, with Moffat & Co. insribed on the die in Liberty's hair, and the reverse with S.M.V. noting the standard market value of Five Dollars.
