1859-D. NGC graded AU-58. Medium D. Lightly toned with luster evident in the fields. The surfaces are pleasing with no deep nicks or bagmarks. A scarce issue with a modest mintage which all but disappeared through time and attrition. It is likely that only one percent of those coined survived to today, and this is one of the nicer examples we've seen. Only 10,366 struck. Pop 28; 15 finer at NGC. Estimate Value $4,700 - 5,000
