Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 100

Lot 1150

1838-D. PCGS graded AU-55. Untoned and well struck by the dies. The surfaces are free of deep or heavy marks, and the eye appeal is strong. A handsome example of the Classic head design, this one struck at the famed Dahlonega Mint, with the bold "D" placed just above the date as was customary for only a few short years. Seldom found this nice and appealing. Only 20,583 struck. Pop 17; 35 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 8178) Estimate Value $13,000 - 14,000

Realized $18,213
