Lot 575

1873 Liberty Seated Quarter Dollar. Arrows. NGC graded Proof 67 Eliasberg. This is one of the finest known examples of this date! Further, it is from the Eliasberg Collection Sale in 1997, which pedigrees back to John Clapp most likely. The coin is stunning, it boasts a delicate arc of blue toning on the left obverse and gold all around, similar on the reverse. As to the centers, they are frosty and white. NGC has only graded 3 this high, and none graded higher, similar at PCGS where they have graded one as PR-67, and none higher. Thus, it is virtually certain that this is one of the finest known of the date! Just 540 were struck, and few survive in top grades. If you demand the absolute finest, then take a look at this quarter.
Estimated Value $12,000 - 15,000.
From Bowers and Merena's Eliasberg Sale, 4/97:1504.
