Lot 563

1853-O Liberty Seated Quarter Dollar. Arrows and rays. NGC graded MS-61. Deep gray toning on both sides and well struck. There are several minor die cracks on the obverse, one from the base of the 1 in the date through the lower arrowhead to the rim, another just left of the rock, from the rim to the center of the rock, a small one through the first four stars, another from her head to the star above, to the cap. On the reverse there is a tiny rim cud over the third T. Minor handling marks, mostly in the fields, as expected for the grade. This is a really rare date in mint state, this is the only graded as such by NGC, with just 6 graded higher.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.
