Lot 503
1858 Liberty Seated Dime. NGC graded Proof 65. An early issue that is truly rare in Proof grade, with an estimated mintage of only 100 pieces, very few of which remain in full gem condition today. This one is mostly white in color, with a bit of peripheral gold toning. Note a few hairlines in the fields, but few signs of handling beyond that aside from a very light intermittent scrape from the shield to Liberty's pole and arm. Deeply frosted devices and quite appealing overall. The recent NGC Population Report shows only 12 graded this high with 8 graded higher.
