Lot 500

1843 Liberty Seated Dime. NGC graded Proof 64. Deep gray toning on both sides with lighter gold on the devices. The fields show trivial hairlines, and these are not important. After all, perhaps 10 were struck, and few come up for sale. We note the diagnostic die chip on the rim near the second star, which is seen on all known proofs. This coin can be identified by a tiny tick mark in the field between the first two stars, and another couple of ticks near Liberty's arm above her elbow in the left obverse field. A worthy coin to add to the most advanced portfolio. NGC reports only 3 graded this high, with 3 graded higher.
Estimated Value $10,000 - 13,000.
