Die alignment III according to Breen, as the eagle flys horizontally when the coin is rotated and composes about 2/3 of the 300 proofs struck. Boldly struck and not from the worn dies as sometimes seen. This magnificent gem boasts a uniform deep violet iridescent tone on both sides. A mere 5 coins have graded by NGC and none higher. This beautiful gem certinaly ranks with the finest known.
