1803 C-3 R2 Double Struck PCGS graded AU53. Frosty chocolate and steel brown with lighter brown toning in protected areas. Traces of mint luster remain visible on both sides. No notable defects, only a few trivial contact marks. MDS, Manley state 3.0, with obvious swelling at the 18 in the date. The reverse was double struck with an offset between impressions of less than a millimeter. The obverse shows no trace of having been struck more than one time by the die, and it may have been pressed against a new blank planchet during the second strike thereby creating an obverse brockage on the new planchet.
