Sterling Silver 1st Place Trophy Goblet, 1902, During British Occupation of India. Beautiful sterling silver goblet with high relief of elephants, tigers, trees, men on horseback and palm trees surround this goblet that is inscribed Bnagalore Assault-At-Arms 1902 First Prize "Tentpegging" Captain E. Jollie. Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka in India and this award came just after a plague killed 3500 in the city and the British Governor-General opened Victoria Hospital and brought many improvements to the city and area including electricity and the motor car. Goble is 8 x 4" and weighs 12 ozt. For collectors of antique silver, British history or vintage trophies, this is a nice piece. Estimate Value $150 - 250
