Rosenthal, Joseph "Mt. Suribachi Iwo Jima Feb. 23, 1945" Iconic WWII Photo Signed (1911-2006) Reproduction photo printed on cardstock signed by famed photographer, Joe Rosenthal who received the Pulitzer Prize for his iconic WWII image, "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima". The image became a celebrated and potent image for Americans and in 1954 was the basis for The United States Marine Corp War Memorial in 1954. This 11 x 8½" (image 8 x 6½") reproduction photo has been hand autographed in lower left image is signed by Joe Rosenthal with his inscription, "Mt. Suribachi Iwo Jima February 23, 1945" below his name in blue ink. Two US stamps are affixed to lower margin and bearing a 1940s era 3 cent stamp that bears the image of Rosenthal's famous photo and a Las Vegas "First Day of Issue cancellation of June 26.1978 with stamp celebrating photography likely pointing to when Rosenthal signed this piece. Overall in very fine condition with slight evidence of toning, original signature excellent. Estimate Value $500 - 800
