U.S. Navy - China Service Campaign Medal + 3 Books on USMC China Occupation. An official U.S. Mint struck medal, in mint condition. Still in the original U.S. Mint box and still in original tissue. Awarded for services performed during operations in China or in Chinese territorial waters or contiguous ocean areas from July 7, 1937 to Sept. 7, 1939 and from Sept. 2, 1945 to April 1, 1957.
With three books on USMC occupation of China: (1) "American Legation Guard Peking 1932"; loosely placed inside is an 8 x 10" vintage photo of a Marine lieutenant in uniform wearing a sharpshooter medal;. (2) "The American Embassy Guard Annual, Peiping, China 1935"; with a postcard photo of a Marine private wearing a sharpshooter medal, identified as Joe Farrell on back of postcard, and dated Nantes France, 1919. (3) Copy of The Tientsin Marine, March 1940, with fold-out map of Tientsin, showing sections occupied by the different nationalities. Overall very good condition. Estimate Value $150 - 200
