Lot 364

1850 N-12 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive lustrous bluish steel and light olive brown with 20% of the obverse and 10% of the reverse showing slightly mellowed mint red. The fields on both sides are smooth thanks to a fresh die polishing and the eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. No spots or stains, only a few trivial contact marks. A small horizontal nick close over star 3 and a tick in the dentils over star 8 are good identifying marks. Sharply struck M-LDS, die state b. The points at CE in CENT are nearly gone. Our grade is MS62+, very close to MS63. The attribution and Brown-Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; none finer in BN for the variety. PCGS #405889. Estimate Value $600 - UP
