1849 N-2 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty medium brown and steel. The only notable marks are a puff of reddish brown toning on the right half of the 4 in the date, a light scratch in the field over star 1, and a tiny pinprick midway between stars 11 & 12. Nicely struck MDS, die state t, with lots of crumbling on the reverse and a strong line that connects the upper parts of the O & F in OF. Our grade is MS60, the finest example of this specific die state in the Grellman census. The attribution and Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 6 finer for the variety.
