Lot 182

1838 N-9 R3 PCGS graded MS66 Red & Brown, CAC Approved. Beautiful lustrous mint red mellowing to steel brown on the devices with nearly half the coin showing original mint color. A wonderful example, nearly flawless. The only mark is an inconspicuous speck of carbon on the left top of the N in CENT. Sharply struck EDS with "phantom dentils" on the rim from the date to star 1 and from star 3 to star 5 and no rim cud breaks. A cent that offers exceptional eye appeal. Not seen by Noyes or Bland. Our grade is MS65. The attribution and Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; the only RB example of the variety at both services. PCGS #37205. Estimate Value $4,000 - UP
