Hedda Hopper Oversized Portrait by George Hurrell Plus Candid With Bob Hope. Hedda Hopper while well known in Hollywood History as a national gossip columnist, she did actually have her start in film during the 1930's. First is a typically glamourous portrait by acclaimed celebrity photographer, George Hurrell, during her film career in the 1930's. Photo measures 10" x 13", and printed in warm sepia tones. The other photo is taken much later, Christmas 1956 to be exact, and measures 11" x 14". While her conspiring with Joe McCarthy spreading gossip and innuendo was a failure of character in her later years, her impact along with Louella Parsons cannot be denied as cogs in the Hollywood publicity machine achieving legendary status when newspapers and radio were king. Hurrell photo quite fine, the candid photo show evidence of wear and two minor creases.
Estimated Value $200 - 300.
