Mosby, John S. and Simon B. Buckner Signatures. John S. Mosby (1833-1916), nicknamed the "Gray Ghost," was a Confederate Army cavalry battalion commander. Signature on a 1½ x 2½ in. cut slip of paper, no place, no date. Matted with a 9½ x 7½ in. printed photo of Mosby and framed to an overall size of 18 x 14 in. Fine. Together with Simon B. Buckner (1823-1914), Confederate Major-General. In 1887 Buckner became the Governor of Kentucky. Signature ("S.B. Buckner, Maj-Genl") on a 1¼ x 2¼ in. cut blue slip of paper, no place, no date. Mounted with a 3½ x 2½ in. printed picture of Buckner, which includes a brief military career biography. Framed to an overall size of 10 x 9 in.
