Wright, Frank Lloyd (1867-1959) American architect; leading designer of modern private dwellings; his larger works include the Guggenheim Museum of Art in New York City and the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. Typed document signed ("Frank Lloyd Wright"), 1 page, 13 (folded to 9¾) x 8½ in., Taliesin, Spring Green, Wisconsin, Jan. 10, 1936. A letter of reference for Karl E. Jensen, who had served as Wright's assistant and secretary for five years, recommending him "for any position such experience as has been added to the qualifications he naturally possessions," and offering to answer questions about Jensen's special abilities. With a typed letter signed ("Frank"), 1 page, 13 (folded to 9¾) x 8½ in., Taliesin, Spring Green, Wisconsin, Sept. 3, 1936. To Karl Jensen: "If you want to lay off your ambition for a year and take a post graduate course at Taliesin - Mrs. Weil…has given us a Dankmer Adler Scholarship….She intends it to give me help in preparing the work on Adler and Sullivan I intend to write. You could edit this work and edit the monograph Taliesin which we are now going to publish…."
