London, Jack. Two autograph letters signed ("Jack London"), one on Hotel Rector (NY) letterhead, 2 pages, 9 x 6 in., Feb. 6, 1912. The second letter is 1 page, 5 x 8 in., written "On Board Ship Dirigo, 133 days at sea," July 13, 1912. Both are written to Bob Davis, who was the leading publisher of science fiction. From New York, London writes: "This is to introduce to you Mr. Lee Arthur, apropos of that novel you and I talked about. He and I intend to collaborate on a novel that will be a winner. I can have the finished ms. ready for delivery in six months. Please talk with Mr. Arthur about details…."

The second letter is written at sea, longitude 145 W., and latitude 42 N. London tells Davis that "'Chinese Literature" was all he said and more. "The reading of it was one of the keenest pleasures of the voyage."
In February of 1912, London and his wife, Charmian, boarded the steel ship Dirigo in Baltimore, for a trip around Cape Horn. They sailed to Seattle and returned home in August. Together with an autograph note signed ("Charmian") on a postcard, no place, no date, thanking Juger (?) for a "sumptuous bottle" and saying they should get together before long, etc.
Estimated Value $600 - 800.
