Lot 47

1797 C-1 R2 1 over 1 Variety VF25. Five points sharper but lightly cleaned and expertly recolored glossy chocolate and medium brown. The surfaces are smooth and this piece offers excellent eye appeal. The only marks are a couple very light ones in the field before the nose and a small nick on the leaf right of the T in CENT. Nicely struck E-MDS, Manley state 2.0 late, with obvious swelling at the L in LIBERTY, a die crack down through the B in LIBERTY into the head, and a fine crack through the tip of the nose that fades out before reaching the dentils before the neck. The date is strong and the 1 Over 1 feature is obvious. Weight 94.7 grains.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.

Realized $3,290
