1870. PCGS graded Proof 64. A splendid well toned specimen featuring uniform deep violet and royal blue iridescense. This is one of the short-lived type issues with the Motto on the reverse, the Motto of course is IN GOD WE TRUST and appears on a ribbon above the eagle starting in 1866 trough the end of the series in 1873, thus not many were coined, and here is one of the nicer survivors known today. Only 1,000 struck. Pop 53; 21 finer, 15 in 65, 5 in 66, 1 in 67. (PCGS # 7018) .
