1874. Arrows. NGC graded Proof 65. Lovely blue and purple toning which is absolutely resplendent when examined. The Arrows were added to quarters in early 1873 to signify a minor adjustment to the planchet weight, and the Arrows were removed from future dies starting in 1875. Thus a short-lived two year type coin was created for collectors with the Arrows flanking the date. Furthermore, at the Gem grade level, precious few survive and collector demand for a coin like this will always be strong, especially given its colorful toning over Gem reflective surfaces. Only 700 struck. Pop 40; 32 finer, 26 in 66, 5 in 67, 1 in 68 Star.
