1902, 6a gray, red "I GILDI", perf 12.75 on cover. Scott 46. Michel 27B. Facit 60. Single franking on PRINTED MATTER cover from Reykjavik (24.10.1902 cancel) to Philadelphia. This cover is the only known printed matter bearing "I GILDI" franking and earliest recorded use of the "I GILDI" issue. Mr. Møller adds pen note to cert indicating it is overfranked by 1 Eyr. Cover with vertical filing crease and small tear at top, both well away from stamp and cancel. Stamp with one broken corner perf and some shorter perfs at top, but is UNIQUE and an important piece of "I GILDI" issue postal history. 1999 Carl Aage Møller BPP Cert.
