Limited first edition of the definitive account of Jewish participation in World War I. This profusely illustrated, massive tome, commemorates the involvement of Jewish soldiers from the British Isles, Australia and New Zealand during the martial conflict of 1914-1918. Within the context of Zionist history and the redemption of Palestine from the Ottoman Turks, this volume acknowledges the individual Jews, who with their counterparts, personally fought for that redemption as the first step in the creation of Palestine as a future homeland for the Jewish People. Blue cloth gilt hard covers, Star of David motif on front cover; blue marble end papers; 636 pp text; additional 365 pp. of soldiers pictures; number: 1287/3000; measures 9 x 11 x 3½"; light foxing approximately first 20 pp; cover lightly worn.
