Spanish American War, Battle of Manila, 1898 Color Print. A large original chromolithograph print dated 1898, printed by "Muller, Luchsinger" of New York, entitled "The Battle of Manila" with subtitle in tiny letters at bottom, "Fought May 1st by Rear Admiral Dewey. Spanish Loss: 11 ships, 150 killed, 250 wounded. American Loss: None". Dramatic full color battle scene shows American battleships and gunboats exchanging furious gunfire with Spanish vessels. At lower left an inset engraved bust of the hero of the day, Admiral Dewey. Some minor chipping and few small margin tears not affecting the image. Ready for matting, framing and display. Scarce original print.
