1788 Vermont Ryder-31 Rarity-4+ GEORGIVS III REX variety F12. Sharpness VF35 with small patches of light greenish corrosion on both sides. An errant planchet cutter impression arcs across the neck and the opposing area across the bust of the seated figure (as struck). Slightly glossy medium brown and light chocolate mixed with splashes of darker chocolate brown and olive. The lower half of the second 8 in the date is off the planchet but the remainder of the date is clear. Far from perfect but a tough variety to find nice. Removed from a PCGS slab where called "Genuine, VF Details, Environmental Damage" (PCGS label included). Weight 113.8 grains. Listed on page 73 in the "Redbook." Estimated Value $400-UP
