Calabria, Tarentum/Taras. 272-235 BC. Silver Didrachm (6.5g). Naked boy rider crowning horse to left lifting off foreleg. The horse's head with a hornlike ornament. In field to right, ΣY beheath ΛYKINOΣ in two lines. Reverse: TAPAΣ, Taras astride dolphin to left, his back half turned to the spectator, holding chlamys on his arm and his right hand brandishing trident; in left field an owl. Vlasto 839.(same dies). NGC graded Choice AU, Strike: 4/5, Surface: 5/5. Estimated Value $600 - 700
