1878-S NGC graded AU Details. Improperly cleaned. Untoned with semi-reflective surfaces. After 1878, the Philadelphia, Carson, and San Francisco mints ceased striking Trade Dollars for circulation (per instructions from Congress) and continued for a time (until 1883) striking Proofs-only for collectors.
