1798 S-167 R1 Style II Hair with Large 8. PCGS graded AU-53. CAC Approved. Frosty medium steel brown and chocolate with lighter steel brown toning in the protected areas. Nearly void of marks. A puff of darker toning at UN, a tiny nick over the eye, and an even smaller rim nick over the E in AMERICA can help identify this cent. LDS, Breen state VI. Both dies are cracked, the cud break over the first T in STATES is strong, and narrow rim breaks show at NI and TED. Called VF35 and tied for CC#20 in the Noyes census, photo #21131. Our grade is EF40+. The attribution and Paul Gerrie provenance are shown on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 1 finer in 58.
