Lot 522

1845 N-13 R2 VF20. Slightly sharper but there is a collection of very tiny pinpricks in the field right of the inner curl. Glossy dark chocolate brown mixed with lighter chocolate tones on the reverse. Semi-unique LDS, die state g, with a long rim cud break on the obverse from star 11.5 clockwise to star 3 and another on the reverse over ERICA to under the stem tip. The margins of the obverse rim cud and the lower margin of the reverse rim cud (below the stem tip) are clearly defined, but the upper margin of the cud over ERICA is worn smooth. Nonetheless, the lower end of the reverse cud confirms the die state. Only two examples of the die state have been confirmed, and this piece is slightly the finer of the two.
Estimated Value $250-UP.

Realized $834
