Lot 511

1840 N-3 R1 Small Date. NGC graded MS-64 Brown. Lustrous light olive and steel brown with tiny peeps of faded mint color showing on the reverse. The surfaces are satiny and attractive. The only marks are a small planchet chip in the field left of star 10 (as struck) and a small spot of darker olive brown toning in the field before the neck. LDS, die state c. The die crack through the date and most stars is clear and the tiny lumps seen under the date in the earlier states are gone. Our grade is AU58+, very close to mint state. The attribution and Rasmussen provenance are noted on the NGC label.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
