Lot 468

1831 N-11 R2 F15. Sharpness VF35 or slightly better with very fine roughness under the glossy dark olive brown toning. The highpoints on the obverse are a lighter shade of steel brown. No marks or verdigris. Rare intermediate die state. There is a strong cud break at TES and the top of the S is filled as well, but there is a small dimple inside the top of the S that has not filled (similar to the extremely rare Manley 10.8 die state seen on the 1804 C-6 half cent). The first of this intermediate die state seen by this cataloger.
Estimated Value $75-UP.
