Antonia, mother of Claudius, Germanicus and Livilla, wife of Nero Claudius Drusus. Orichalcum Dupondius (15.80g). Minted at Rome, AD 41-42 under Claudius. Draped bust of Antonia right. Reverse: TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG PM TR P IMP. Veiled and togate figure of Claudius standing left holding a simpulum before him; in fields right and left, S C. RIC (Claudius) 92; Sear 596. Some pitting noted. Excellent details. Light tan-brown patina. Choice Very Fine.
