Calabria, Tarentum/Taras. 334-302 BC. Silver Nomos (didrachm) 7.8 g. Evans Period 5. Nude jockey on horseback right., right arm raised in triumph; ionic capital below horse. Reverse: Phalanthos (Taras) riding dolphin left, holding serpent and whip in extended right hand; KON below. SNG ANS (Part 1 Calabria) 1025; Vlasto 655. Exceptionally well centered on a broad flan, slightly over-cleaned. Lustrous Extremely Fine.
