Egypt, Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy I, Soter, 305-283 BC. Gold Stater (7.1g) minted at Kyrene, 298-294 BC. Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, aegis around neck. Reverse: ΠTOΛEMAIOY BAΣIΛEYΣ. Deified Alexander III, the Great, holding thunderbolt in right hand and reins in left, driving quadriga of elephants left; in exergue, apple tree branch.
