Sicily, Syrakuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. Gold Dekadrachm or 50 Litrai (4.26g) struck ca. 317-311 BC. Laureate head of Apollo left; behind, kantharos. Reverse: Charioteer driving biga right, holding kentron in right hand, reins in left; below, triskeles. Cf. SNG ANS 552; SNG Cop 747 (no symbol); BMC 339. A few old obverse scratches.
