Lot 195

1793 S-6 R3 Wreath Cent VG8. Vine & Bars Edge. A couple points sharper but there is a planchet void at the rim before the neck and a thin one in the field off the chin, as struck. No corrosion or verdigris. There are some dull contact marks, including a dent under the 9 in the date, several rim bruises on the lower right quadrant of the obverse, a small void under the second A in AMERICA. Glossy chocolate brown with traces of lighter golden brown toning in a few of the protected areas, possibly from an old retoning. EDS, Breen state I. The always-present dull horizontal wave or die crack behind the portrait is barely visible. The date and legends are easily readable, although there is some weakness in the center of the reverse from minor swelling.
Estimated Value $1,500-UP.

Realized $1,380
